V:Gd – Delicious vegan and gluten free desserts

This is a sponsored post for V:Gd.

I imagine that becoming vegan can feel like quite an intimidating task. I mean, there is so much to consider. I think the no meat bit would probably be the easiest part, to be honest. Well it would be for me anyway. The no milk, no eggs and no butter on the other hand would probably be a real challenge! So t’s nice to come across desserts made without any of the above! Desserts that are pretty delicious and vegan friendly. What is even nicer, is that the desserts are Refined sugar free, Dairy free, Wheat free, Soy free and Gluten free! The company behind the desserts are V:Gd.

Chi Kitchen – Eid Menu

Yummy! The Chi Kitchen – Eid Menu in one word! We were invited to review the Eid menu for Chi Kitchen in Birmingham and we jumped at the chance. We went with high hopes, having heard so many glowing reviews of the restaurant and knowing that Ping Coombes (Masterchef winner 2014) was the executive/consultant chef. (Excited much?!) Chi offer a wide range of Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Korean and Vietnamese food and i was intrigued by the Eid menu that had been provided for us before hand.

How I recovered from Ramadan Burnout

How I recovered from Ramadan Burnout

Ramadan is a time for prayer, reflection, transformation and a spiritual detox right? So this Ramadan, like every other Ramadan, i sat down with my paper and pen and wrote down everything i was going to achieve, not just in terms of my spirituality but also what i would be doing with my kids to ensure that they were engaged and aware of the importance of the month. All this resulted in Ramadan Burnout.

how i recovered from ramadan burnout

I started with a lot of gusto, an array of ideas and a mammoth plan. However midway through the month, i began to lose momentum, i failed to meet the unrealistic targets i had set for myself. I burnt out, like totally. One night, I couldn’t even manage small tasks and that made me feel terrible.

Five great places to visit in Cornwall

Five great places to visit in Cornwall

I have received so many messages from readers and friends since our trip to Cornwall this year. So naturally i had to put a post together to talk (or type) about our top five great places to visit in Cornwall. It was so hard to narrow it down because there is a heck of a lot to do in Cornwall. These places made my top five because if i was to go to Cornwall for five days only, these are the places i would visit. I am very outdoorsy and this list reflects that, so it may not necessarily be to everyones taste. I find it difficult to be indoors anyway and I definitely didn’t want to be indoors when there was so much natural beauty around. That is the reason i steered clear of the Eden Project despite the rave reviews.
