London Halal Food Festival
So unless you have been under a rock, you will have heard about the London Halal Food Festival. Basically a celebration of Halal food and drink where Muslims could for once, eat EVERYTHING in sight. Well..aside from each other. The event took place on the 20th – 21st August. Over the weekend, thousands of halal food enthusiasts descended upon Tobacco Dock for the London Halal Food Festival. One half of Tiffin and Tea went along, whilst the other half minded the kids! With the UK Muslim population at an all time high of almost 3 million, a Halal Food Festival was always going to be a popular event.
Halalnivore – Gourmet meat delivered to your door

Top 10 reasons to purchase a Jerry Bottle
I am a little bit in love with my Jerry Bottle. I brought it about 2 weeks ago and it has been by my side ever since. Here is why i think you should buy one for yourself or share this post so that others can buy one.
Chi Kitchen – Eid Menu
Yummy! The Chi Kitchen – Eid Menu in one word! We were invited to review the Eid menu for Chi Kitchen in Birmingham and we jumped at the chance. We went with high hopes, having heard so many glowing reviews of the restaurant and knowing that Ping Coombes (Masterchef winner 2014) was the executive/consultant chef. (Excited much?!) Chi offer a wide range of Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Korean and Vietnamese food and i was intrigued by the Eid menu that had been provided for us before hand.
How I recovered from Ramadan Burnout
Ramadan is a time for prayer, reflection, transformation and a spiritual detox right? So this Ramadan, like every other Ramadan, i sat down with my paper and pen and wrote down everything i was going to achieve, not just in terms of my spirituality but also what i would be doing with my kids to ensure that they were engaged and aware of the importance of the month. All this resulted in Ramadan Burnout.
I started with a lot of gusto, an array of ideas and a mammoth plan. However midway through the month, i began to lose momentum, i failed to meet the unrealistic targets i had set for myself. I burnt out, like totally. One night, I couldn’t even manage small tasks and that made me feel terrible.
Five great places to visit in Cornwall
I have received so many messages from readers and friends since our trip to Cornwall this year. So naturally i had to put a post together to talk (or type) about our top five great places to visit in Cornwall. It was so hard to narrow it down because there is a heck of a lot to do in Cornwall. These places made my top five because if i was to go to Cornwall for five days only, these are the places i would visit. I am very outdoorsy and this list reflects that, so it may not necessarily be to everyones taste. I find it difficult to be indoors anyway and I definitely didn’t want to be indoors when there was so much natural beauty around. That is the reason i steered clear of the Eden Project despite the rave reviews.
Taste of India event
It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I am trying to use the next week to really buckle down and get some recipes up. As some of you may have seen on social media, we attended the Taste of India event at Maida, in Blackburn on the 8th May.
The magic of Chaiiwala
It is a truth universally acknowledged that an indian person with things on their mind will require half a cup of masala chai to solve all their problems. So the success of Chaiiwala (based in Leicester, UK) was inevitable.
14 ways I tried to get in control of my Anxiety
This is part two of a previous post about my experience with anxiety. In 2015 my anxiety reached it’s peak and here are the steps I took to attempting to get better. Here is part one of that post.
Anxiety, panic attacks and me
Where to start? Anxiety, Panic attacks and me is my most personal post to date and also my most nerve wracking one… However i hope that it helps anyone who is going through a similar experience. Or anyone who knows someone who is going through it. This post is based on my own personal experience of anxiety and panic attacks. I have read and reread this post 46 times according to my website amendments. That’s a record. So if there are any errors, do forgive me. This is such a sensitive topic and my mind is racing all over the place whilst i am writing it.
People who know me will probably never have me down as someone who suffers from anxiety. The thing is, i’m not one to open up about these things. I’m not one to let my walls down to just anyone. So for me to show my vulnerability and really let people into what I’m going through is pretty big.
