Chickpeas are having a real moment right now but in South Asian households, they have always been a pretty big deal and in this Indian Chickpea, Coconut and Lemon Stew, they are the most important part of the dish. I think their popularity is in direct correlation (This is GCSE Maths in action) to the Vegan movement that is taking place at the mo.
These are the most scrumptious and delicious Lemon Aloo Tikki ever. I have an obsession with all things lemony and these are super duper lemony and lemon works well with spiced potato so…YUM. I mean if you aren’t into tangy lemon flavours, I guess you can amp down the lemon but seriously why would you do that?
Rajma kebab or Kidney bean kebab is a quick and easy recipe to make and it is so so delicious. A vegan and gluten free recipe that comes from I believe Northern India.
This Mixed grain and veg salad is filling, refreshing, crisp and delicious. It’s made simply with chopped vegetables, a simple dressing and 2 pouches of Merchant Gourmet products.
I have already shared this delightful healing and soothing Turmeric and Saffron Milk in my Instagram feed but I know that some people prefer to find recipes online. This is a variation on a recipe that my teacher (the Hakim) has taught us and one that we regularly make and drink in class. In Hakims version there is no turmeric or nut butter and we soak Almonds instead and then chop them and add them to the milk. This version is a time saving version but I would definitely try the other version too.
