Chocolate Covered Banana Pops
Ramadan Kareem/Mubarak to all those celebrating! Today we have a recipe for simple chocolate covered banana pops to make with the kids. The perfect Half term/Ramadan activity.
Look I know this recipe isn’t rocket science but my brain is currently resembling the kids morning scrambled eggs and this post is easy on my brain. Also, you can get the kids involved! YAY. Getting the kids involved means that they are occupied for 1 minute more then they would have been otherwise and I am sure it will be a great bonding experience. There will be no screaming or shouting involved at all..because what is there to argue about. It is so simple but say you have more then one child…then there could be power struggles, tugs of war, shouting, slipping on banana skins and chocolate covered faces. Or not.. things may look different in your house. These scenarios may never occur. A simple activity may not turn into carnage. I am happy for you oh you perfect Pinterest, glowing, yoga practicing mummy.
How is Ramadan going for you? Have you found that inner glow? Are you basking in spiritual glory? Or are you experiencing what is known as a healing crisis aka the biggest headache on earth and various other symptoms? It’s all good. Today/tomorrow/the day after that should be the final day of symptoms and then you will be skipping through your days merrily again. In the meantime, I pray that you are enjoying Ramadan and making the most of it. I love to see people enjoying Ramadan and going through their days seemingly unaffected by it all. I couldn’t even form a proper sentence yesterday. When I see the leaders of the Ummah delivering speeches, I think wow you sound so articulate and you seem so with it. I don’t even know what day it is. Yesterday I spent several minutes of my day, going in and out of my podcasts like a clown because I thought it was Tuesday and I always listen to my favourite podcast on a tuesday. It took until today for me to get that it wasn’t tuesday yesterday.
Also yesterday, we took the kids to the park. Abdullah wanted to hang some food for the birds in the trees. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many Muslims out for walks with their partners and children. You know I love nature and that time in the park was wonderful. (Wonderful? Who says that?….Me apparently). The grass hadn’t been cut which was unusual but it felt so good! We connected with the Earth (Earthing) and came back happier and more alive.
Anyway, this is a really easy activity to try with the kids and they will love to eat them too!
