Indian Spiced Prawn Skewers

Delicious marinated and grilled Indian spiced prawn skewers. This is a super easy recipe and the combination of the prawns, aromatic smoky spices, the warming chilli and sour juice of the lemon makes a pretty perfect dish. The balance of all these taste sensations delivers the most divine flavour.

The best thing about this prawn dish is that you can sizzle the juicy prawns over a smoky BBQ in the Summer and in the winter you can simply grill them indoors instead. I just can’t seem to get enough of them and neither can everyone else. I guess the thing with prawns is if you like them, you can pretty much eat them with any marinade. I favour indian and asian flavours but I am more then happy to have them with most marinades. Although sickly sweet doesn’t work for me! I know so many people who love prawns with a really rich, sticky sweet sauce but although I can eat it, I would usually go for a marinade that is a little more subtle in flavour when it comes to prawns.

For the most part I always buy frozen prawns. I know a lot of people buy fresh prawns but I rarely do, mainly because I cannot cope with the smell in fish shops and markets. My freezer is always stocked with prawns because we love them yet I don’t think I have ever shared a prawn recipe on the blog. I haves shared this one on Nutri Ninja though.

Grilling is one of my favourite ways to cook prawns as it is a surefire way to end up with a tasty prawn dish. These prawns are great with rice or in a naan with plenty of dressing.
