My favourite Roast Dinners with Sides
Who doesn’t love a good roast dinner? I know I certainly love to indulge once in a while! So I have rounded up my favourite roast dinners with sides for you guys.
Tis the season for turkey, goose, beef, lamb, fish..basically you can roast anything. On the veg side, I have seen some lovely vegan roast recipes on Pinterest.
It’s nearly that time of year again, when people completely start to wind down. So before then everyone seems to be doing a lot of running around and squeezing in all those jobs that simply must get done before 5pm on the 24th. I know I am definitely ready to wind down and give my kids some real quality time. I wish I could go somewhere over Christmas like I used to before marriage but for my husband, this is the busiest time of the year so time off ain’t happening and I don’t have a car so it looks like we will be indoors. That being said, I am determined to make the most of it.
Then come January, everyone is talking detox and resolutions. I am not mocking because I will be doing exactly the same.
So before then, you may as well squeeze in a good roast meal.
My favourite lamb shoulder recipe is this one right here. I much prefer shoulder to leg any day. I feel like it is so much more moist.
My favourite chicken recipe is actually a Gordon Ramsay recipe. This is the one I like to use. By the way, if you cannot find Tarragon, use any other herb but when you do come across Tarragon again, grab it, mix it with butter and freeze into ice cube trays or logs so you always have some on hand. Tarragon is so unique that it cannot be replicated with any other herb.
I also have a few other roast chicken recipes, including Thai Roast Chicken on a bed of Soba Noodles and Pomegranate Molasses Chicken.
I would also recommend suing this Yorkshire Pudding Recipe and this Recipe for Veg. I adapt this recipe by using butter. I never use Margarine. I also add carrots, potatoes, squash, herbs such as oregano, rosemary, thyme and loads of black pepper.
