Chicken shawarma Salad

Chicken shawarma Salad

I know i said i would have this chicken shawarma salad recipe up over the weekend, so i apologise that it is a little late. I promise that it is worth the wait. It is absolutely delicious. This may not be the most authentic shawarma recipe because it isn’t cooked on a rotisserie but i think it works well as a salad. The rotisserie method isn’t alway accessible. I have used all the flavours of a shawarma and baked it in the oven followed by a short blast under the grill. This recipe is for a salad, although of course you could eat it as a sandwich or naanwich ;).  If i was making a lamb version, i would use a griddle instead. I have made this with both chicken breast and thighs and would recommend you use thighs but if you are watching what you eat, then breast would be better and it also cooks quicker (Halve the time and keep an eye on it as it can dry out).

Healing Turmeric Tea

Healing Turmeric Tea

There’s a new trend out at the moment and it is everywhere! The craze is for turmeric latte or golden milk. Turmeric also known as Arad/Haldi/Addar is well known for it’s anti inflammatory and antioxidant effects. However because it is difficult to absorb, it is advisable to have it with some black pepper too. Here I have made a healing turmeric tea.

Marinated Herb Feta

Marinated Herb Feta

How great is marinated herb feta? I keep wanting to say ferb heta. I don’t know why either. It’s such a great and easy peasy starter. It’s also great as part of a mezze.

I love cheese. That may be obvious from some of my posts! I have always been a cheese board person. I love the variety of cheese that we have access to, I love crudités and fruits and dips. I just love it all. I remember just after i got married, someone popped in to ours and we had nothing to serve them but a cheese board. In some ways, that is  actually kinda cool. What isn’t cool is that we didn’t have anything else. You know like normal stuff. She only popped in for five minutes and was confronted with a platter of cheese and crackers.
