Turkish Chickpea, Cous Cous and Hummus Bowl – Spicy chickpeas, fluffy cous cous, hummus, pickles and a cucumber salad all crammed into one bowl.

Turkish Chickpea, Cous Cous and Hummus Bowl

I have this bowl of goodness every time I feel like I have overindulged because whilst I like healthy food, I hate boring food. I like a real flavour punch at lunch..I’m a poet and I know it. I don’t like my healthy food to feel like I did something wrong and deserve bad, dry food.

This bowl is a plant based, nutritious delight. You know at night when you are zoning out and sit in front of the telly (if you do) or in front of I dunno..(just work with me) and you need a little snack? These chickpeas do the trick. The best thing is that they are healthy and not as calorie laden as a bag of Doritos. I mean you could have the whole bowl with cous cous and gang in it as well but ya know..it might be excessive. So you just cook another tin of chickpeas and save some for later during hunger time. Everyone gets hungry when they watch tv apparently.

Can you believe its almost November? How is time flying by so quickly? November means the holidays are almost here. Does November even count as a month though? I can feel everyone and everything around me switching off already. Maybe the Christmas break should start at the end of October? These are the types of conversations I would attempt to have with my old boss. He never looked impressed.

The downside to Christmas is the weather. Imagine if we had a hot Christmas with sunglasses and flowing skirts? Can you imagine summer wonderland instead of winter? Ok I guess I am not selling this, not even to myself.

The problem is, I’m that person who needs 3 layers of clothes and 4 pairs of socks in winter. I am also the person who insists on hot food because cold food in cold weather..nah not for me aside from the daily smoothie! So I am preparing my mind and body for cold times ahead and feeling grateful that at least I can be indoors and warm myself up. Count your blessings and all that.
