Honey, Five Spice and Sesame Chicken - This Asian Chicken Marinade is delicious. It’s sticky, sweet and savoury. A classic balance of Asian flavours. This is another hands off easy recipe that is great for weekday meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 Chicken Drumsticks/Legs
  • 4 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Five Spice
  • 2 - 4 Garlic Cloves crushed
  • 1/4 inch Ginger crushed
  • 1 Spring Onion finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add the chicken to a large dish. Add all the ingredients bar the spring onions and sesame seeds. Coat evenly. Cover and pop in the fridge for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6, 200C/180C Fan.
  • Remove chicken from marinade and reserve the marinade. 
  • Place chicken, in a single layer, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Cook chicken for 40 minutes or till golden. Baste with reserved marinade midway through cooking.  
  • Sprinkle with spring onions and serve with rice.

Notes

When I use Soy Sauce, I don't add salt because I find it gets too salty.
