Add the oats, milk/water and salt to a pan and heat over high heat for 5 - 8 minutes or until thickened and cooked. Stir in the honey/maple syrup.
Pineapple
Add the sugar to a small plate and dip the pineapple in it, making sure it is coated evenly. Add 1 tsp butter to a pan over a low heat. Once melted add the pineapple. Cook for 2 minutes each side.
Coconut
In a small dry pan, add the coconut and cook for 1 - 2 minutes stirring occasionally.
Assembly
Add the porridge to a bowl and top with the pineapple and desiccated coconut.
Notes
You may need to add more water/milk to the pan of oats. It depends on the milk/oats. Sometimes i use up to 500ml.
