Ingredients
  

  • 290 g Oats
  • 16 Medjool Dates
  • 170 g Honey
  • 125 g Almond or Peanut Butter
  • 95 g Pecans or Almonds
  • 1/8 tsp Black Seed
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger Powder
  • 100 g Dark Chocolate Melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees C, Gas Mark 4. Add oats to an over tray and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Pulse dates in a food processor until they form a paste. Add to a bowl and stir in oats, nuts, spices and black seed.
  • Add the honey and almond butter to a large pan and allow to melt. Once melted, pour over the date mix and quickly combine using a wooden spoon.
  • Add mixture to a lined tray and press down using the back of a table spoon or bottom of a glass cup.
  • Spoon over the chocolate and spread evenly to coat. 
  • Cover the tray and put into the freezer for 15 minutes.
  • Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.  

Notes

  • Black Seed isn't suitable for pregnant women.
  • Black seed is very bitter and strong. The flavour intensifies as time goes on.
  • These bars keep well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks and in the freezer for up to a month.
