Nutella Baked Oats without Banana - This quick and easy recipe for Nutella baked oats is made without banana. Ready to eat in under 30 minutes, this is another viral Tik Tok recipe that I love. If you love this baked oats recipe, why not try Easy Biscoff Overnight Oats, Fluffy American Pancakes with Oat Milk or Fudgy in the middle chocolate, oats and date bars.

Nutella Chocolate Baked oats in ramekin

    Nutella Baked Oats without Banana

In this recipe, oats are blended with Milk, Honey, Egg, Salt and Baking Powder.

Then chocolate chips and Nutella are added.

The oats are then baked until they are crisp on the outside and gooey in the middle.

The appeal with this recipe is that it feels like you are having a cake for breakfast!

I don’t like to add Banana because I feel like it overpowers the flavour of the oats too much but you can add half a mashed ripe banana in place of the Eggs if you like.

Can I use another Chocolate Spread?

Nutella is a brand of sweet hazelnut chocolate spread. It is manufactured by the Italian company Ferrero and was first introduced in 1964. You can sub this with your favourite chocolate spread if you prefer.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

    Oats

This recipe works well with all Oats. Rolled Oats, Gluten Free Oats and even Quick Oats.

    Nutella

Or any Chocolate spread that you enjoy. We add some in the middle and a little on top when it is straight out of the oven.

    Egg

This helps to bind all the ingredients together, adds protein and creates lift.

    Milk

Any milk will work including plant based milks.

    Honey

Or Brown Sugar, White Sugar, Agave or Maple Syrup.

    Baking Powder

    This make the oats fluffier.

    Salt

Just a pinch of Salt brings the flavours together.

    Chocolate Chips

These are optional but I like that dotting these throughout the oats adds flavour throughout.

How to make Nutella baked oats

    Preheat oven to 200C/390 F/Gas Mark 6.

    Ingredients on a board

Spray ramekins with an oil spray.

Blend the Oats with milk, some nutella, egg, honey or sugar, baking powder and salt.

Pour in half the mixture between 2 ramekins.

Stir in chocolate chips (milk, dark, white or all 3!) and add a blob of Nutella into the middle.

White chocolate chips added to ramekins

    Nutella added to ramekins

Pour over the remaining blended oats.

Cover ramekins with foil and bake in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until the oats begin to come away from the sides.

Optional - Add a little Nutella on top before serving.

    Tips for Nutella Baked Oats

Baking times will vary depending on the width of your baking dish. A wider dish will need a shorter baking time.

    Variations

You can add Biscoff into the centre of the oats instead.

Top with fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.

    Drizzle over some Caramel.

Add 1 tsp Cocoa Powder to the Oats and blend with other ingredients.

Use Water instead of Milk for a Healthier option.

    FAQs

    Are Nutella Baked Oats Healthy?

Oats are healthy and nutrient dense. Nutella..not so much.

However overall the recipe is fine as part of a balanced diet.

If you are watching what you eat, I would suggest reducing the amount of Nutella used here.

Can I make these without a blender?

You don’t need a blender to make the recipe if you purchase Oat flour and use that instead.

How long should I cook baked oats?

The timing depends on the dish. Wider dished will need a much shorter bake time because of the depth of the batter. In wider dishes I would suggest 10 - 15 minutes baking time.

Can Baked Oats be made ahead of time?

Baked Oats are best eaten fresh because the Nutella and chocolate chips are gooey and warm at that time!

Can I make these in the Microwave?

Yes you can bake in the microwave for 1 1/2 - 2 minutes.

    How to store baked oats?

These easy Nutella baked oats keep well for up to a week in the fridge but they will need to be reheated before eating. Simply pop into the microwave to cook.

It’s really helpful to me that you have explained why the ingredients are added. I love anything with oats instead of flour. Can’t wait to try it and have a healthy sweet breakfast.
