This is the BEST and EASIEST method to bake sweet potato that has a crisp skin and a melty soft fluffy middle. No foil required! This is a foolproof method that works every single time.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Sweet Potato
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to Gas Mark 7/220 C.
  • Wash and scrub the sweet potato skin lightly to remove any grit. Prick all over with a fork.
  • Whilst damp, sprinkle with salt. This is what gives the potato a crisp skin. 
  • Scatter the tray with water using wet hands. (Flick).
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 40 minutes to an hour. This varies according to size/thickness of potato.
  • To test whether the potato is done press it; it should 'give' a little. Or stick a fork/skewer through the middle.

Notes

If you want to make multiple sweet potatoes, make sure there is plenty of space between potatoes otherwise the potatoes will steam rather then bake.
