Serve in Tacos. as a taco filling with fresh veggie salsa OR as a salad topping for a light meal.

How to know if Shrimp is cooked

It is so easy to overcook shrimp.

Here are 2 ways to know when the shrimp is ready:

Colour – The colour changes from an opaque grey to a light pink all over.

Size and Shape – The Shrimp will shrink in size and become more closed.

Storage

You can store leftover Shrimp/Prawns in the following ways:

Fridge

Allow the Shrimp to cool then pop in an airtight container and store in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Reheat in the air fryer or microwave for 1 minute.

Freezer

Allow the shrimp to cool then place it in an airtight container and freeze for up to 6 months.

Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

To Reheat, once thawed, add to an air fryer. Spray over some Oil and cook till crispy. This will take 1-2 minutes.

FAQ’s and Tips

How long to cook for

Check that the Shrimp is cooked at the 5 minute mark and cook a little longer if needed but don’t take it too far as overcooked Prawns are chewy and tough.

Size of Prawns

Use large or medium Prawns for best results. King Prawns also work.

Do I need to flip them?

You do not need to flip the Prawns mid way.

Overcrowding

Don’t be tempted to over crowd the Air Fryer. If you double to triple the recipe, it is better to cook them in batches.

Temperature

Cook at 400 F/200 C.

Coated Shrimp

Coated Shrimp take a little longer to cook so if you are making Shrimp with a Panko/Breadcrumb coating, add 2 - 3 minutes to cooking time.

Frozen Shrimp

You can put frozen Shrimp in the Air Fryer but it will take a little longer to cook. It is best to thaw the Prawns first.

Can I make this with Shell on Prawns?

Yes absolutely.

I would add 2 tablespoon more Oil and cook at 350f/180 C for 4 - 5 minutes.

These are the ones I made.
