This Brownie Trifle Dessert is loaded with deliciously fudgy brownies and it is indulgent and creamy. The BEST thing about it though is that it is such a quick and easy recipe to make making it ideal for gatherings where you may already be making a load of other dishes.

Note - You can add the flavours in any order or do 3 or 4 layers of each too.  Here we have a layer of brownies, with hot chocolate on them then custard, then chocolate custard then more brownies then cream.

    Brownie Trifle

I have been making this dessert for many years now and it never ever disappoints.

Not only does it look impressive, it tastes incredible too.

Oh and it feeds a crowd.

There really isn't much work required here.

It is a simple case of layering all the elements - Brownies, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Custard.

Everything can be ready made or you can make it yourself. I used leftover Brownies and everything else was pretty much ready made or low effort.

    The other great thing?

You can adapt it to your taste.

You can add Oreos, Caramel, Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter, Popcorn, Pretzels..whatever you like!

    INGREDIENTS IN BROWNIE TRIFLE

    Brownies

You can make your own Brownies and layer into this dish. You can also use a Brownie mix.

    Chocolate Custard & Plain Custard

This makes this trifle dish creamy and rich.

    Cream

Whipped Cream for the top makes this dessert even more delicious and decadent.

    HOW TO MAKE IT

Chop the Brownies into small pieces and set aside.

Place the Brownies in the bottom of a trifle bowl (Save some if you want to add some to the top) and add 3 tbsp of Hot Chocolate.

Spoon Cream on top of the Custard.

Add a final sprinkling of Brownies if you like.

As mentioned, this brownie trifle can be assembled one day ahead.

You can also prepare the various elements ahead of time and then assemble on the day.

    VARIATIONS

This recipe is incredibly adaptable. Here are some ideas:

Add a layer of your favourite snacks - Oreos, Crunchies, Maltesers (Whatever you like).

Make an Chocolate Orange version -  Add crystalised oranges on top of the Brownies and Orange Juice instead of Hot Chocolate. Melt Chocolate Oranges and add on top of the Custard and add chopped Chocolate Oranges for the top.

Is the hot chocolate just the powder, or 3 tabs of hot chocolate drink? Thanks!
