This Healthy Tuna Caesar Salad with a Yoghurt dressing is the best tuna salad my husband has ever tasted! The salad includes Tuna, eggs, avocados, black olives and a yummy yoghurt dressing.

This is the perfect salad to take to work, as long as you keep that dressing locked in a separate container until lunch time. This is a lighter caesar salad and therefore the ingredients are different to a traditional caesar salad.   That is to say, it isn't 100% authentic.

Confession time, I don't really like tuna. I never have. People tell me time and time again that I am missing out but my taste buds tell me different. My friend once shoved a tuna pizza in my mouth and it was rather unpleasant.

This salad was basically created for my husband and brother, who both love tuna. Those were the people I had in mind when I put this together. My husband has said it is the best tuna salad he has ever had. He said it was banging hence the name. (Insert eye roll here!). I am yet to test it on my brother.

Right now, I should be cooking but I genuinely can't think of what to make because my brain is full of things to do. I really want a vegetarian dish and I might just make this daal.

Kids are so noisy. Seriously. My kiddos are loud even when they are sat doing nothing. I can't think of any situation they are not loud in. Even in the supermarket. Awkward. Hey ho though, they are kids. They can be quiet and conform when they are older. My son is especially loud in normal conversation and he has a habit of pointing things out very loudly to random members of the public. #megaawkward. He doesn't mean it in a bad way but it can be taken badly. In fact, it is his innocence that makes him state facts to passers by. Last week he said to a man 'you have a plaster on your head and you look happy', as we were walking past him. Even though i know it isn't coming from a bad place, I just felt bad for the man so I bogged my eyes out at my son and avoided eye contact with the man. Hahaha.

Anyway, I hope you love this salad as much as my husband does and it becomes once of your lunchtime favourites. I apologise, but the dressing makes this salad look awful!

    Healthy Tuna Caesar Salad

    Prep Time 2 minutes
    Cook Time 15 minutes
    Total Time 17 minutes
    Servings 1 -2

    Ingredients

    Salad

    • 120 g Tuna drained
    • 1/2 Red onion sliced finely
    • 5-6 Cherry/Baby Plum tomatoes cut in half
    • 1 Egg Boiled and cut into small cubes
    • Few leaves Gem Lettuce chopped roughly
    • 1/2 Avocado cut into 1/4 inch cubes
    • 1 tbsp Black olives whole or sliced finely

    Dressing

    • 3 Garlic Cloves crushed
    • Juice of 1/2 Lemon or 1 tsp Sumac
    • 190 g or 3/4 cup Plain Greek Yoghurt
    • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
    • Salt and Pepper

    Instructions

    1. Add all the salad ingredients to a large bowl.
    2. In a small bowl, combine the ingredients for the dressing and whisk well.
    3. Add the dressing to the salad, just before serving.

    Recipe Notes

Some shaved parmesan is lovely with this salad but obviously adds calories and takes this from a light meal to heavy pretty quickly.
A traditional caesar salad includes anchovies but I can't handle them!
