If you guys are looking for a delicious, moist (sorry) and gluten/dairy free/refined sugar free cake for Eid, this is it. I LOVE THIS Chocolate Orange and Honey Cake.

Chocolate orange cake with orange zest on greaseproof paper and grey towel

Whilst gluten free flourless cakes are nothing new, this is the first time that I have made a chocolate orange version. Should have done it sooner because it went down a treat.

Why I love this cake

  • This Chocolate Orange Cake is quick (hands on time) and easy to make, and is bursting with flavour from the cocao and orange juice.
  • It is also melt-in-the-mouth soft.
  • Requires very few ingredients.
  • Gluten Free and Dairy Free (so a real crowd pleaser) but it doesn't compromise on taste.

Minimalist Cake

I know what you're thinking..Oh here she goes again with all her new age talk..sorry what I mean is that the deco is basically melted chocolate and orange zest. There is no fuss here and whilst I am aware that it isn't the best looking cake on earth, it still looks good enough to eat.

Does it taste weird?

I know that many people avoid gluten free or the free from aisle because it screams BLAND or COCONUT OIL but I promise you, this cake tastes like neither of those things. I mean obviously it doesn't taste of coconut oil because there is no coconut oil in it.

This recipe is a recipe for flourless cake that is used by many people. Even people who are not Gluten or Dairy intolerant. It is just so delicious that everyone is always asking for it!

When a gluten free cake is made correctly, following a reliable recipe then you'd your love ones won’t be able to tell the difference. Trust me.
