    Ninja Foodi Baked Potato

I have had the Ninja Foodi for a number of years now and the latest model is my favourite because it can do it all! You can both Air Fry and Pressure Cook without moving food from one gadget to another.

The BEST Potatoes for Baked Potatoes

In the UK - King Edwards, Desiree or Maris Pipers are the best option.

The skin gets nice and crisp and the potato becomes light and fluffy.

In the US Russets are the most popular type of potato to use for baking and they are my choice, for sure.

You can also make Sweet Potatoes using the same method but they usually require less time to cook so keep an eye on them.

Do I need to poke holes in the Potatoes?

    Yes absolutely.

    Making more then 1 Potato

You can make up to 5 Potatoes depending on the size at any one time. The time will remain the same.

    Possible Toppings

I like to keep my potatoes pretty simple. There are an abundance of fillings that go well with baked potatoes. Try:

    • Plain old Butter
    • Sour Cream and Chives or Spring Onions
    • Chilli Con Carne
    • Cheese and Beans
    • Tuna Mayo
    • Chicken Curry

You can really get creative here and add any toppings you love. You could even make a bunch of toppings and have a selection ready for you and your loved ones to mix and match their favourite ones.

3 Ways to make a Ninja Foodi Baked Potato

You can make a baked Potato in the Ninja Foodi in 3 ways:

    1. Use the Pressure Cooker first and then finish with the Air Fryer to crisp up the skin.

    2. You can Air Fry only.

    3. You can Pressure Cook only.

Having tried all three methods, I would suggest you use a combination method.

Air Frying only means you get a crisp skin and a cooked interior but not one that is fluffy.

Pressure Cooking only means you get a very fluffy Potato but no crispy skin.

Using both methods, means you get the most perfect Potato!

Top tips to make the BEST Ninja Foodi Baked Potato

Course Sea Salt - For crispy skin without accidentally over salting the Potatoes, I use course sea salt. This draws out moisture from the skin but doesn't make the potatoes too salty.

Oil - use an oil with a high smoke point such as Vegetable Oil, Sunflower Oil, Avocado Oil.

Poke holes all over the Potato - This helps steam to escape from the Potatoes.

Make a slit in the Potato - If you like the skins to remain crispy, make a slit in the top of the Potato immediately so the skin remains crisp.

How to make Ninja Foodi Baked Potato

How long does it take to make a Baked Potato in the Ninja Foodi?

    30 minutes!

    A Delicious Variation

Turn your Baked Potato into a Potato Skins! I LOVE Potato Skins and making them this way is the best way that I have had them.

When the potatoes are done, slice in half and scoop out the inside leaving the skin around the edges.

Mash the Potato with your favourite filling - I like Sour Cream and Chives.Place back into the Potato.

Place back into the Foodi and air fry for a further 10 minutes.

    Storage

Jacket Potatoes are best eaten fresh.

However if you happen to change your mind after they are cooked, allow them to cool and place in the fridge within 1 - 2 hours. They will keep for up to 2 days.
