This Oven Baked Salmon is a lovely way to serve salmon. It is very quick to make (JUST 15 minutes) and so delicious. This Salmon is vibrant, moist, flaky, citrusy and seasoned beautifully. A perfect easy weeknight meal for busy people and great for meal prep.
Oven Baked Salmon Ingredients
There aren't a load of ingredients in this flavourful recipe:
- Garlic
- Lemon
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Smoked Paprika
- Cumin
- Coriander
- Red Onions
- Salt and Pepper
I am obsessed with all things lemony and I add lemon to so many recipes. The thing with using lemons is that they also help achieve a moist flaky salmon inside and out.
How long should I bake Salmon in the Oven?
This recipe doesn’t take long to bake in the oven. Simply position a rack in the center of the oven and bake the salmon in a preheated oven at 200 C/GM 10 for about 15 minutes.
Cooking times should be adjusted though depending on the thickness of the salmon cut.
How do I know the Salmon is cooked?
Apart from the obvious colour change in the Salmon, the best way to check if the salmon is cooked through, is to insert a fork into the center of the fillet and slightly twist it. If it comes out flaky, opaque and moist, then it is ready.
Is Salmon sustainable?
You can check if your Salmon is sustainable by checking out suppliers here. MSC labelled salmon comes from a fishery that has been independently certified to the MSC Fisheries Standard. This can be identified via a blue MSC sticker on the outer packaging.
Brands who have committed to selling sustainable Salmon are Aldi, Lidl, Tesco.

Avocado Dip
I make avocado dips all the time and this one is yummy. I make variations of it too. It’s a mix of avocado, lemon or lime, oil, coriander and salt. I kept it pretty simple really. Here is another version I make that I serve with everything.
This dip/sauce/whatever is absolutely optional but I think it works so well together.
Meal Prep
Aside from this recipe being both easy and delicious, it also is as a great recipe for meal prep. The Salmon will keep well in the fridge for 3-4 days.
This would be a great meal to pack up as a work lunch or use as an incredibly fast dinner.
