Turmeric Rice and Spiced Chicken with a Garlic Yoghurt Sauce
If there is one dish you make from my entire blog, let it be this turmeric rice and spiced chicken with a garlic yoghurt sauce. It is so unbelievably good. My cousin pinpointed me in the direction of this recipe from Serious Eats which is a copycat of a street food available in New York. You can make it with chicken thighs or breast but in the interests of keeping the calories down, I used breast. I have adapted this recipe to my taste and i really want you to try it. I feel like it is subtle and not too over the top and that is what I like about it. Often people confuse spice with flavour and In my view, food can be delicious without a lot of spice too.
Crispy Oven Baked Potato Wedges
I have always loved crispy oven baked potato wedges but only recently started making them myself. Crispy, crunchy potato wedges seasoned perfectly and served with sour cream sounds like a perfect side dish to me. I remember going out in my younger years and devouring a plate of potato wedges dipped in sour cream. I am not really a fan of the frozen variety. In fact I am not a fan of frozen anything. I don’t tend to keep ready meals of any variety in the freezer. I have plenty of frozen fruit and veg though for shakes/granitas/sorbets.
KFC Original Chicken Strips
I have only had KFC chicken a handful of times. Basically when I went abroad a few years ago, I set up camp in KFC because it totally lives up to the hype. These KFC original chicken strips are adapted from this KFC original chicken recipe.

Chicken Chow Mein
Chicken Chow Mein is probably a dish that people make a lot. I first made it about fifteen years ago. On Sunday at my mums, we used to have all the family around for ‘family day.’ They still do that by the way but I no longer live there. Boooooo. Nowadays life is so busy and sometimes Sunday is the first week that everyone actually sees each other. It’s a full house and absolute chaos. Admittedly when I have landed there on a Sunday and forgotten about how busy it is, I have felt totally overwhelmed. All that noise, activity and food. Loads and loads of food. This is one of the dishes I would often make.
