I have only starting making Nabeez recently after reading a lovely message about its benefits. This is a prophetic drink and as such i knew it would hold some benefit to me. However that didn’t mean i was looking forward to trying it! I imagined that it would be really ‘bitty’. 


The part that struck me the most is that this is an alkalising drink that removes acidity from the stomach. I think i have mentioned previously, that i read a lot about food in general and one of the things i have read repeatedly is that the body should be in an alkaline state to avoid many of the illnesses we hear about nowadays. More on that here.

Dates contain Fibre,  Potassium, Copper, Manganese, Magnesium and Vitamin B6. Dates also promote Digestive Health,  Help to relieve constipation thanks to the fibre content,  boost heart health, are an anti inflammatory, reduces blood pressure, help boost iron levels, help to reduce blood pressure, promote respiratory health and helps to prevent colon cancer. So it always makes sense to consume dates! 

Nabeez is delicious. So much better then I expected. Better then any smoothie or juice i have ever tasted but saying that i’m not really a smoothie person, yet weirdly i love a smoothie bowl! Soaking the dates only intensifies their sweetness, making this drink very easy to drink! A Kilner jar is ideal for Nabeez because you can just screw the lid on and forget about it but a tall glass covered with anything from cling film to a small dish is also perfect.   • 10 dates
  • 250 ml water
  1. In a large cup or jar with a lid, soak the dates in water overnight.
  2. Drink in the morning!

Leaving the date water for too long in a warm place can cause fermentation. Yesterday it was particularly hot, so i put my jar in the fridge to do its thing.

This picture was taken just as the dates went in. The water looks a lot murkier after a while.
