Why I love 3 Minute Sharing Microwave Brownies

They are ready to eat in 4 minutes!

They can be mixed and baked in the same bowl.

They can be shared with loved ones.

Ingredients

Butter - Full fat Unsalted butter works best here.

Eggs - Use large eggs here.

Caster Sugar - You can use granulated but I prefer Caster.

Flour - Plain Flour or All Purpose Flour.

Cocoa Powder - Any type of Cocoa works here.

Chocolate Chips - Or use chopped up Chocolate.

Salt - Just a pinch brings everything together.

Vanilla - This is optional but I think it really enhances the flavour in brownies.

Baking Powder - Enough to help the Brownies to raise a little.

How to make them

Microwave the Butter in a 15 - 18 inch microwave safe ramekin/bowl and let it cool for a couple of minutes.

Whisk in Eggs and Sugar.

Fold in Flour, Salt, Cocoa Powder, Baking Powder and Chocolate Chips.

Brownie ingredients reasy to be microwaved in dish

Microwave for 3.5 minutes. Remove the brownies from the microwave and let them cool in the dish completely, before serving with ice cream.

Can they be made in the Oven?

Yes, they can be baked in the oven instead.
Simply pour the batter into an oven safe circular dish (15 - 16 inch wide) and bake for 10 - 12 minutes at Gas Mark 4/180C.

Tips and FAQ’s

Adjust the timing according to your Microwave. Mine is 800 W and took 3.5 minutes to cook.

You can cook for a longer or shorter time depending on how you like your Brownies.

Fold through some chopped Walnuts or a spoonful of Nutella.

Storage

Fridge

These brownies keep well in the fridge (covered) in a dish for up to 2 weeks.

Freezer

Double wrap the brownies, then place in a ziplock bag or airtight container. Store in the freezer for up to 6 months.

How do I know they are done?

Stick a toothpick in the middle and it should come out with some crumbs on it but otherwise clean.
