Aloo Tikki Chaat
Aloo Tikki Chaat is a popular Indian Street Food.
There are many versions of Aloo Tikki.
In this recipe, crispy Aloo Tikkis are topped with various toppings. Some of which may be:
Yoghurt
Chutneys (Tamarind, Coriander/Chilli)
Sev
Chopped Onions
Pomegranate Seeds
Ragda or Chickpeas
Julienned Veg
Ingredients
Aloo Tikki – I love Aloo Tikkis. Recently we brought some Aloo Tikki Chaat and noticed that they had used Hash Browns in place of Aloo Tikkis. No..just no. Aloo Tikki is a crisp spiced potato patty. I like to add lots of Lemon for a zingy Aloo Tikki. Here is my recipe.
Ragda or Chickpeas – I use leftover Chickpea Curry/Chole or these Chickpeas in this recipe. They are basically a Chickpea Curry. Ragda is the other option. It is made from white peas.
Yogurt – I always add yoghurt for creaminess and to add some coolness.
Chutney – I use Coriander Mint Chutney, Tamarind Chutney and Date Syrup.
Other Ingredients – I also use Chaat Masala, Roasted Cumin Oowder, Red Chili Powder, Fine Sev, Coriander leaves, Pomegranate and Onions.
The Chutneys (Sounds like the name of a band..)
I use Tamarind Paste and Date Syrup. Both of which are store brought.
For the Coriander Chilli Chutney – Blend Coriander, Mint, Green Chillies, Ginger, Cumin Seeds and Salt in a blender with Lemon and Water.
