    Ninja Foodi Rice - How to make fluffy fragrant Rice in the Ninja Foodi/Electric Pressure Cooker. This recipe is quick, and easy to make. Ready to eat in under 25 minutes!

    Ninja Foodi Rice

    Being Indian, our sides were always either Chapatti or Rice and so good rice is really important in our home.

    For perfectly fluffy rice every time that is ready in under 25 minutes, keep reading for my top tips and tricks!

    You can either have it plain, with a square of butter, in stock for some extra flavour, with spices and veg like in this recipe or with whole garam masala spices like in this jeera rice recipe.

    Even better? You can make brown rice in the Ninja Foodi too. Just add more water and adjust timing. See more details below.

    It is healthy, gluten free, is a good source of iron and is great for energy levels.

    It is quick and easy.

    It makes the fluffiest rice.

    You can adjust the flavours according to your taste.

    No need for a Rice cooker.

    What you need for this recipe

    Other then the machine itself, you also need:

    Rice - I like Basmati but any long grain rice will work.

    Water or Stock

    Salt

    Cumin Seeds (Optional)

    Tools needed

    Ninja Foodi.

    Measuring cups.

    Metal strainer to rinse rice.

    Wooden spoon for stirring.

    Teaspoon to add salt and cumin.

    How to make Ninja Foodi Rice

    Optional - Soak 2 cups of rice for 30 minutes, then wash in a few changes of water until the water runs clear.

    Add 2 cups of white rice into your Ninja Foodi along with the cumin seeds.

    Add 2 1/2 cups water or stock.

    Add Salt.

    Put pressure cooker lid on and close steam valve.

    Turn on, select pressure, set to high high and adjust timing to 2 minutes.

    Do a natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release when done.

    Fluff with a fork and serve.

    Tips for making the BEST Ninja Foodi rice

    Make sure you stir the water and rice together.

    Add stock for more flavour.

    Use Basmati or long grain rice.

    How to make Brown Rice

    For 2 cups you will need 2 1/4 cups of Water but in the case of brown rice, i would definitely recommend using stock.

    Add Salt.

    Put pressure cooker lid on and close steam valve.

    Turn on, select pressure, high and adjust timing to 15 minutes.

    Do a natural release for 5 minutes, then quick release when done.

    Fluff with a fork and serve.

    Variations

    You can add any flavour you like to the rice such as:

    Oil/Butter/Ghee at the start (select saute) and then add:

    • whole spices such as Cumin Seeds, Nigella Seeds, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Peppercorns.
    • diced onion - 1 (cook for 10 minutes until golden brown or add fried onions).
    • Add 1/4 - 1/2 cup of chopped vegetables.

    Storage

    Rice keeps well in the fridge in a airtight container for up to 5 days.

    You can also freeze it for up to 3 months.

    Ninja Foodi Rice

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups Rice Optional - Soak for 20 minutes
    • 2 1/4 cup Water or Stock
    • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
    • 2 tsp Salt Adjust if stock has salt in it

    Instructions

    1. Rinse Rice under cold water in a metal strainer until the water runs completely clear.

    2. Add Rice to Ninja Foodi.

    3. Add Water or Stock.

    4. Add Cumin Seeds and Salt.

    5. Secure lid and click into place. Turn valve to seal.

    6. Select pressure - High.

    7. Turn to high setting. Set the time to 2 minutes.

    8. Once the pressure has built up the timer will start.

    9. Once the time is up and the display reads done, allow rice to naturally release for 10 minutes.

    10. Carefully turn the pressure release valve to vent to release any remaining pressure.

    11. Open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork or spoon.
