Most people love a chicken curry. It is a staple favourite weekly meal in asian households and for good reason. It is delicious and it will satisfy the whole family. Chicken curry with roti or rice is the meal no one complains about and everyone needs a recipe like that. My in laws actually call this recipe, chicken soup which used to confuse me a lot. It isn’t thick like a normal curry, it is more like a broth/soup so it makes sense.

This here Moong daal soup is a staple meal in my house and a lot of houses of an asian background. Some people cook the moong daal in a pressure cooker. Not me though. See a few years ago I had a very unfortunate accident with a pressure cooker so thanks but no thanks!

I LOVE aubergine. It is so unbelievably versatile. It’s a great carrier of flavours. As a family, we eat loads of aubergine dishes. As well as this aubergine curry with coconut and peanuts – bagare baingan (the name it is known by), I also make a delicious aubergine curry with potatoes and peas, aubergine curry with minced lab and boiled eggs, moussaka, aubergine parmesan, aubergine stacks, stuffed aubergines, aubergine with kisir, aubergine mezze, miso aubergine, aubergine slices, and the list goes on. I also love the sound of an afghan aubergine dish where the aubergine is layered with tomatoes and yoghurt. Afghan food is delicious and I just know it will be good without even trying it. As for turkish mezze..omg. I am lucky enough to live near an awesome turkish place and sometimes I go in there and just pick up some mezze and hot, fresh bread and we all dive in.
This Masala fish recipe is one I used to make all the time! I had kinda forgot about it for a while but now it is back in my life. It is one of those recipes that is handy to have for a sudden get together. I am yet to come across a person who doesn’t like it.

One of my favourite recipes in the world is Tadka Daal. It is simplicity at its best! Not only does it taste delicious, it also really warms you up in winter. I serve this daal with rice or roti. For sides, I make Crispy Okra and Crispy Aubergine.
Back in the day, when I was a little younger, I would always opt for a chicken dopiaza from the menu at an indian restaurant. It does feel a little retro but I love it and I think you will too. Dopiaza literally means two onions. Onions are added at two stages and I use two different sizes of onions too.
