    M & M Cookie Dough

    This M & M Cookie Dough/Skillet Cookie/Pizookie is for all the M&M lovers out there (Holding my hands up) delicious and incredibly indulgent. It is also the perfect dessert/fun activity to make/do with kids.

    This Cookie Dough is sweet, gooey and pretty colourful too. 
    When I say cookie dough, I don't mean the raw cookie dough that people also love. What I mean is a half baked large cookie.
     
    It is gooey in the middle and the edges remain golden and crisp and you can add anything you want to it!

    If you love M&Ms like I do, then this is the cookie dough for you! Deliciously rich cookie dough is studded with gorgeously nutty M&Ms. P.s. We don't eat the red ones because they are not considered Halal.

    What’s great about it is that it is delicious served warm and cold. Serve it while it is still warm with a scoop or 3 of ice cream or eat it cold when it is more set. I prefer it warm..as in just out of the oven. 

    Either way, it will be gone fast.

    pizookie?

    To make a Pizookie version, bake a little longer. 
     
    A pizookie is essentially a combination of a cookie and pizza — or a giant chocolate chip cookie. A cookie dough is not sliceable because it is so soft whereas a pizzokie, whilst still soft in the middle can be sliced.

    M & M COOKIE DOUGH INGREDIENTS

    Here is what you need:

    • Butter
    • Caster Sugar
    • Light Brown Sugar
    • Egg
    • Vanilla
    • Plain Flour
    • Salt
    • Baking Powder
    • M&Ms – A generous amount so that you get all that crunch and chocolate goodness.

    Here is how you make it: 

    Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6/200 C.

    Grease and line a 20cm cake tin.

    Cream together until the mixture is light and creamy. You can do this in a stand mixer or in a large bowl with a hand-held mixer. 2 – 3 minutes.

    Add the egg and mix until combined then stir in Vanilla.

    add dry ingredients

    Fold in the dry ingredients on top of the wet ingredients. Stir them together gently then beat until everything is combined and there are no lumps.

    Add M&Ms and stir by hand until they are evenly distributed throughout the  cookie batter. You can save half for the top and add them after the cookie is baked.

    Next, spread the batter into the prepared tin. 

    bake!

    Bake for 12 – 15 minutes. It will continue to bake after it is removed from the oven. You can always cook it longer if you prefer but I like the gooey centre.

    Serve!

    Let the cookie cool for 5-10 minutes before you serve it! Add a dollop of ice cream to the centre and serve!

    tips and variations for M & M cookie dough

    You can make this in the same sized cast iron pan or ramekin.

    The short baking time keeps the middle gooey, if you prefer it more set increase the baking time.

    You can add any treats you like to the batter.

    Feel free to add chopped nuts/chopped chocolates/chopped treats of your choice into the batter.

    Divide the dough in half and add a chocolate spread/caramel layer, then add the remaining cookie dough before baking.

    You can cook it for longer if you prefer it to be more set.

    M & M Cookie Dough

    Ingredients

    • 125 g Unsalted Butter
    • 125 g Light Brown Sugar
    • 75 g Caster Sugar
    • 1 Egg
    • 1 Egg Yolk
    • 1 tsp Vanilla Paste
    • 150 g Plain Flour
    • ¼ tsp Salt
    • 1/2 Baking Powder
    • 200 g M & Ms

    Instructions
