    Best Nutella Pizza with Oreos

Today we have a recipe for Pizza with a chocolate twist!

Imagine all the joy of a Pizza but with chocolate!

This is the most delicious recipe for a pizza base smothered in Nutella and topped with Oreos!

In this recipe, I use store brought pizza dough. You can also use a store brought pizza base. Or you can make the base yourself!

I love Nutella Pizza but I have to say, my kids definitely love it more.

It requires such little work and you can adapt it to your liking.

    Is Nutella Pizza Italian?

No it isn't a traditional Italian Pizza but both recipes individually are Italian.

Nutella and Pizza are both Italian recipes and they compliment each other perfectly!

    Who invented Nutella pizza?

It is unclear who invented Nutella Pizza!

Pizza and Nutella were created by different people though. More information on that can be found below!

    Is Chocolate Pizza a thing?

    Yes absolutely!

Over the years it has become quite a popular dessert with many pizza parlous offering it too!

    Pizza Recipe

Pizza is an Italian dish that is made with a leavened dough first created by Raffaele Esposito.

It is most often round in shape and flat. It is topped with tomatoes and cheese as well as an array of other ingredients.

Pizza is eaten by hand or with a knife and fork. It can be eaten hot or cold and can be baked in a gas or electric oven as well as a wood fired or brick oven.

The crust can be thing and hand tossed (Neopolitan style) or thick and deep dish (Chicago style).

    What is Nutella?

Nutella is a brand that is most famous for it’s sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread.

Nutella is manufactured by an Italian company - Ferrero and was first introduced in 1964.

Various supermarkets now carry a cheaper version of the popular hazelnut spread. I have used it in various recipes on this site including Nutella Cups, Nutella Cheesecake, Nutella Tiramisu, Nutella Bread, Nutella Cookies, The Easiest Nutella Ice Cream, Nutella Triple Chocolate Cookie Dough, Nutella cheesecake cups.

    Ingredients in Nutella Pizza

There are very few ingredients in this recipe:

    Pizza Dough

I use a store brought dough which requires very little work. You can also buy a store brought pizza base. Or make your own. (More on that below).

    Nutella

Or any chocolate spread that you love.

    Oreos

Again use your favourite variety. I like the Brownie ones.

    Chocolate

To crumble over the top. I used Flake.

How to make a Nutella Pizza

This is a non recipe, recipe!

It is one of those recipes that is just an assembly job really.

First you roll our pre made pizza dough on a floured surface. I love Northern Dough.

    Dough on floured surface

You can also buy rolled out pizza dough from any supermarket or even pizza bases.

You then bake (if needed) according to the pack instructions.

Rolled out dough on silicone mat

Take out of the oven and top with whatever you like!

NOTE - You may need to heat the Nutella in the microwave for 20 - 30 seconds first. Make sure there is no foil on the bottle whatsoever!

Baked dough with Nutella on it

How to roll the Pizza Dough

Roll the pizza dough onto a piece of baking paper and place the dough onto the tray.

It makes it easier to transfer otherwise it an get stuck to the work surface and the shape becomes altered when trying to move it across to the tray.

    FAQs

Can I use a store bought pizza crust?

    Yes absolutely.

Can pizza be made in an Air Fryer?

Yes bake for 7 minutes at 190 C. In this recipe, you would just bake the pizza base in the air fryer.

    Can pizza be frozen?

    Yes it can.

It can be frozen for 2 months. Transfer the pizza to an air tight container or air tight freezer bag.  Or, you can wrap pizza slices in cling film, then wrap in a layer of foil.

    Can pizza be reheated?

Yes it can if fridge cold, reheat in the microwave in small 10 second bursts.

If frozen, defrost in the fridge overnight and reheat in the oven or air fryer till hot all the way through.

To make the dough yourself (2 Pizzas)

Mix 1 tsp yeast, 1/4 tsp sugar, and 175ml luke warm water in a large bowl and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

Add 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tbsp oil, and 120 - 175g flour to form a dough.

Knead till smooth for 5 minutes. (By hand or in stand mixer). Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.

Divide the rested dough in half. Roll each portion into an 10 - 11 inch circle.

Place on a lined oven tray or greased pizza tray with holes. Poke dough all over with a fork.
