In this post I link to the Air Fryer method (Cajun inspired) and give the recipe for the Grill method. The recipe here is made with Indian spices but you can use whatever spices you like!

I know that recently a lot of the recipes on the site have been Chicken Breast and Air Fryer/Ninja recipes and that is because that is what a lot of you have been asking for.
I am also working on creating a form, where you can ask for recipes that you would like me to create for the site and I would love to hear from you!
Chicken Breast recipes are always popular but this Ninja version has been asked for many many times.
Many of you have stopped using your Cookers all together and just use the Ninja now and I can totally see why!
In this recipe you are rewarded with tender delicious Chicken Breast for very little effort.
The marinade/seasoning is very simple and is cooked until lightly caramlised.
The recipe is simple, fast and incredibly tasty!
Ingredients in Ninja Foodi Chicken Breast Recipe
As we all know, Thigh or Drumstick meat is always the most flavourful and juicy part of the Chicken but I promise you that cooking Chicken Breast in this way means it still remains moist.
There is nothing worse then a dry Chicken Breast that has to rely on a bunch of table sauces to make it taste of something..anything.
In this recipe we make the seasoning do the work and the Ninja really helps the Chicken Breat to absorb all that flavour.
You can of course use a pre made rub/seasoning or you can use the following ingredients:
Chicken Breasts - Use boneless, skinless chicken breast here.
Cumin Powder - Adds loads of flavour and aroma.
Red Chilli Powder - For a slight kick.
Turmeric - For a beautiful golden colour and earthy taste.
Ground Coriander - This works well with the smokyness of Cumin.
Garlic and Ginger - Works so well with all Chicken dishes.
Salt and Pepper
Garam Masala - Just a touch adds an edge.
Brown Sugar - This adds slight caramelisation.
Lemon Juice - Just a squeeze if you like. Or add some Lemon Pepper if you have some.
How to make it
Air Fryer Method
Grill Method
Pierce the Chicken Breasts to allow for the marinade to soak in.
Marinade in all the ingredients for 20 mins to 1 hour.
Insert pot and grill plate.
Select Grill and press Medium. Set the timer to 25 minutes.
Add Chicken Breasts and close the lid.
Flip at 8 minutes.
Cook for 5 more minutes. Baste and close the lid. Cook longer if needed and check the internal temperature. It should be around 160 f/71C.
Allow meat to rest 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
What Temperature does Chicken Breast need to reach
Place the thermometer in the thickest part of the chicken and make sure it is at 70 - 75 C.
How long to cook Chicken Breast in the Ninja Foodi
In an Oven (220C) or on the hob - 15 - 20 minutes is the standard depending on the thickness.
Cooking it at a high temperature means it gets caramelised and doesn’t dry out.
In the Ninja Foodi it can vary greatly - 5 - 20 minutes!
Air Fryer - at 180 C for 10 - 12 minutes.
Grill - Medium at 20 - 25 minutes.
How to use it
Here are some easy ways to use Ninja Foodi Chicken Breast once cooked -
Add it to your favourite Salad and drizzle with a dressing you enjoy or even some Sauce.
Chop and add to Pasta or Pasta Bakes.
Add to a Wrap or Sandwich.
Add as a topping to a Pizza.
Chop and then stir into a stir fry.
Add to a Quiche.
Serve with Rice and Vegetables.
Top tips for making Juicy Ninja Foodi Chicken Breasts
Pound the Chicken Breasts to an even thickness with a rolling pin/cut in half - This tenderises the meat but also makes it the same thickness all over so you get an even cook.
Allow the Chicken to rest once it is done - Leave it for 5 minutes under some foil to rest before you cut it. This keeps the meat juicy.
Use a shop brought seasoning - There are some great seasonings out there and I would highly recommend the East End or Nandos rubs for this recipe. Just use about 2 tbsp.
Don’t overcrowd - Cook 1 - 2 breasts at a time depending on the size.
Marinating - This is an optional step and adds flavour but it isn’t necessary for Air Frying.
How to store leftover Ninja Foodi Chicken Breast last
Fridge - Place in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
To reheat, place in the microwave or gently rewarm chicken in the air fryer or oven at 175 C. Keep a close eye on it.
Freezer - Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the fridge and gently reheat in the microwave or airfryer using the instructions below.
How to cook Frozen Boneless Chicken Breast in the Air Fryer
To cook frozen Chicken Breast in an Air Fryer, drizzle with Oil and add seasoning of choice (If not already seasoned).
Preheat the air fryer to 180 C.
Spray the air fryer basket with an oil spray then air fry for 15 - 20 minutes, flipping midway.

Healthy and Tender Ninja Foodi Chicken Breast
Ingredients
- 2 Chicken Breasts
- 1 tablespoon Oil Veg, Sunflower or Olive
- 1 Lemon Juice only
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
- 1 tablespoon Garlic Paste
- 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- ½ - 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
Instructions
- Pound Chicken Breasts to an even thickenss by placing between cling film and beating with a rolling pin.
- Poke or use a small knife to add tiny slits to the breast. (Optional)
- Marinade Chicken Breast in all the ingredients for 20 mins to 1 hour.
- Insert pot and grill plate into unit. Select Grill and press Medium. Set the timer to 20 minutes.
- Add Chicken Breasts and close the lid. Flip at 8 minutes.
- Cook for 5 more minutes. Baste and close the lid. Cook for 5 minutes. Check the meat and cook longer if needed. To do this, check the internal temperature. It should be around 160 f/71C.
- Allow meat to rest 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
